Scholarships

Education is an investment in stronger communities

At United Mansonic Lodge, we support education because it creates opportunity—helping individuals build stable futures and strengthening families and communities. Across many Masonic jurisdictions, scholarship programs are a major part of this mission (for example, Masonic foundations and Grand Lodges administer annual scholarship funding and application cycles).

Our Scholarship Support

We support students through:

  • Direct scholarships funded by lodge members, partners, and supporters (when an application cycle is open)

  • Partner scholarships available through Masonic-affiliated charities and foundations

  • Guidance and referrals to credible scholarship opportunities (where appropriate)

Many Masonic organizations operate scholarship programs at scale—for example, the California Masonic Foundation reports awarding over $1M in scholarships annually.

Eligibility (General Guide)

Eligibility varies by scholarship type and jurisdiction, but common criteria include:

  • Residency in [City/Region/Country] (or attendance at an eligible institution)

  • Enrollment (or acceptance) in an accredited college, university, or technical school

  • Evidence of good character, community involvement, and academic effort

  • Financial need may be considered for need-based awards

Some programs are open to the public, while others require a Masonic connection (varies widely by program).

Selection Criteria

We prioritize applicants who demonstrate:

  • Commitment to education and clear goals

  • Responsibility and character

  • Service mindset (helping others, community involvement)

  • Consistency (effort over time, not only one-time achievements)

Scholarship Finder

If you’re looking for additional options, many Masonic bodies publish scholarship listings or centralized “finder” tools (example: a scholarship center operated by Masonic organizations in California).
